Today was spectacular….. Not only did I feel much better, the beauty of Santorini was just amazing. I took a tour to Profitis Ilias and the Oia Village. Here is the ship’s description: From the Mountain of Prophet Elias, enjoy the best views of this gorgeous island. You’re headed to
Oia, and along the way you will learn of the inspiring volcanic nature of the island. Oia is a picturesque town with blue-domed churches, old two story mansions, narrow cobblestone streets lined with tiny shops selling hand made ceramics, paintings and semi- precious jewelry. This is an ideal location to capture the beauty of this remarkable island. Returning to Fira, walk with your guide to the cliff side road where you may proceed to the cable car at your own leisure. The Oia village was very much in the traditional style and was beyond words. If there are more beautiful places I can’t think of them at the moment. Once back in Fira, I decided to head back to the tender pier, way down the bottom of the cliff by donkey. What a scary ride…. The donkey kept running me into the wall. It is so steep and the surface full of potholes which makes you wonder if the donkey is going to stumble (with you on it’s back). All ended well and I made it to the bottom….. safely. The other really amazing thing dealt with the other ship in the harbor.
It was a Pullmantur ship…. Looked a bit familiar. I looked at the name and I was really amazed, Zenith. For those who have followed my travels for a while realize I spent a lot of time on this ship which was my “home away from home” for quite a while. Back then it was the Celebrity Zenith. It left Celebrity last year and headed for Pullmantur after Celebrity (RCCL) bought Pullmantur. For any old Zenith fans who may be out there, here’s a photo…. What a great day!!!! On to Venice….

Me too, I'm glad you're feeling better. Could not imagine seeing interior photos of the on board doctors office for the next couple of weeks...........
Very glad you are feeling better. Have been following every day. We have two prints of Santorini in our den, but have never been there. Maybe someday.

Awww, I miss the Zenith. Thanks again for keeping us updated on your fantastic journey.
Spectacular! I am giving you permission to contribute to a cruise fund for your baby sister (not Patti) so she can see such sights!
