Day 110 Puerto Limon, Costa Rica

We had another amazing day today. We went off the ship a little after 8:00 and hooked up a driver and guide to take us on a tour around Costa Rica. We went to the Tortuguero Canals, the Rain Forest, a Banana Plantation, the beach and along the coast before hitting town in Puerto Limon. We certainly had a full day. We saw numerous Sloths (2 and 3 toed), poisonous green frogs, Howler Monkeys, Brahma cows and bulls, numerous birds, and Iguanas. It was a nature filled day. We got back to town and toured around a bit, including the seawall before kicking back for a cool beverage while watching the people walk by…. Great day!!!! As we headed back to the ship it dawned on Sandra that they had been here before but never really explored the town or surrounding area. We really got lucky today because the weather was great. Normally you can count on some torrential rains, like the ones I had when I was here a couple of weeks ago. Tomorrow, we transit the Panama Canal and dock in Amador, Panama tomorrow night around 8:00. I hope we have nice weather to transit the canal…..

Good grief. You getting frequent sailor miles from the folks manning the locks?
