Day 122 At Sea

Today was a very, very hot sunny day at sea. It actually was pretty brutal. I only stayed out for 7 ½ hours today….. pretty steamy. Tomorrow we arrive in Papeete, Tahiti around 8:00 in the morning. Kudos to Captain Van Zanne for getting us there 4 hours ahead of the originally scheduled noon arrival. We will be in Papeete until 6:00 the following morning when we slide across to Moorea which is only 12 miles away. We plan on doing a little touring, a little eating and I guess a little beach time if the situation presents itself…. I’m looking forward to it.

If you have time in Moorea, you should go on 4x4 safari, operated by "Albert Tours". We did this and had the BEST time; it took the better part of the day (I think 6 hours or so), but we rode in the back of an open air pickup (where you could stand up or sit) and went off road through the jungles, toured the entire island and even went to the "rum" factory.

This was great because you were out in the sun the entire time (as opposed to be in a stuffy tour bus) and the off road part was great - taking us to places we never imagined we would see.

Whatever you do - have fun! Moorea was the best honeymoon ever!

P.S. Our tour guide's name was Arno and he was probably one of the reason's why we had such a great time. Not sure if he still works there or not, but if you decided to do this, it might be worth asking for him.
