Today Bali proved once again that is truly one of the most beautiful places in the world. The people here are so nice, a lot of which come from the Hindu traditions. They are a beauyiful people. I really love this place. Since I have been here twice before in the last 12 months I wanted to find something new for my exploring and I did. I booked the following ship’s tour which promised to pretty amazing.
Tenganan & Water Palace
"Tenganan is a walled mountain village which is the ancestral home of the Bali Aga people and even today retains a pre-Hindu culture. The settlement features the most unusual layout on Bali, with two identical living compounds arranged in rows and streets that run the length of the village. It is here that you will find the unique Kamben Grinsing (flaming cloth), which the villagers believe protects its wearer from evil. Learn firsthand the legend of the fabric from one of the village artisans. Nearby, Puri Agung Karangasem Palace—more commonly known as the Water Palace—is an imposing reminder of the time Karangasem was a kingdom. This stunning palace of beauty and solitude was built in 1947 by Amlapura’s water-loving king. The palace contains a network of pools and a swimming pool fed by a natural spring. Finally, your journey leads through Selat, a mountain pass, for a magnificent view of the island’s rice fields."
I indeed was right, it was amazing! Our first stop was at the walled mountain village of Tenganan. I had been here before but another visit was indeed warranted. Our next stop was spectacular…. The water palace is truly a beautiful place. Last, but not least, we went by the village of Selat for some pretty remarkable views of the rice fields. I am truly addicted to taking photos of Balinese rice fields…. Just magnificent!!!!!

I wholeheartedly agree with you that Bali is the most beautiful island on earth and that the people are just so gentle, and peaceloving. Unfortunately, since the Javenese have taken over a lot of the island it is not as safe as we once thought and we haven't been back since 1998. I do miss it and hope that one day we will feel safe to return to this island paradise.
THANKS JEFF,
Now we know which tour to take when we return in Oct.!
We did the last tour of Bali with you in 2007.
Keep the great photos coming!
Hope to see you in Sep.!
