Day 165 At Sea

Today was a really pleasant day… The sun was shining and we had a light breeze. I spent the day sitting in the sun relaxing and planning for my up coming adventure. I leave the ship as soon as I can after we dock around 0830 tomorrow in Phu My Vietnam. I suspect it will be around 9:00, 9:30 at the latest. Here is my itinerary:
Wednesday 05 HO CHI MINH CITY - SIEM REAP – Goway’s “3 Day Amazing Angkor Wat”

The religion was founded in the 1920’s by a Vietnamese Government Official and combines elements of Christianity, Buddhism, Confucianism, Taoism, and Islam. The religion worships saints as well as people, such as Winston Churchill, Moses and Victor Hugo (a French Author). Afterwards, Transfer to the airport for your onward flight.
3.35 PM Depart Ho Chi Minh City to Siem Reap on Vietnam Airlines VN823.
4.35 PM Arrive in Siem Reap.
Upon arrival into Siem Reap, please clear customs and immigration. Outside of the arrival hall, you will be met by a representative of Destination Asia (Cambodia) – Telephone: (855-23) 213-441 – and he/she will be holding a signboard with your name on it. The local representative and tour guide will be wearing two different uniforms: gray polo T-shirt and gray shirt with black trousers. Transfer to your hotel. Enjoy sunset dinner at your hotel or at a local restaurant.
Borei Angkor Hotel PH: (855-63) 964-406
No. 0369, Banteay Chas, Slokram, Siem Reap, Kingdom of Cambodia
The temples of Angkor, built from 879-1191AD, when the Khmer civilization was at its height, represent one of the most astonishing and enduring architectural achievements. From the great citadel of Angkor, the kings of the Khmer Empire ruled over a vast domain that reached from what is now southern Vietnam to Yunan, China and from Vietnam westward to the Bay of Bengal. The structures one sees at Angkor today, more than 100 temples in all, are the surviving remains of a grand social and administrative metropolis whose other buildings – palaces, public buildings, and houses – were all built of wood and are long since decayed and gone.
Thursday 06 ANGKOR
Today you will be taken to the base for exploring the fabled temples of Angkor, the ancient capital of the Khmer Empire. Today, there will be time for exploring Angkor Wat temples including the magnificent 12th century Angkor Wat, the South Gate of Angkor Thom, The Terrace of Elephants, the Terrace of the Leper King and the famous Bayan.
Borei Angkor Hotel
Friday 07 SIEM REAP – SINGAPORE
This morning you will take a balloon ride to see the sunrise. Then travel back to the hotel to enjoy breakfast. After you will again tour other spectacular sights of Angkor Wat such as Ta Promh, and Preah Khan. In the afternoon take a boat ride on Tonle Sap Lake where you will see fishing villages and the Sunken Forest. Spend the afternoon at leisure until your transfer to the airport for your onward flight.
7.15 PM Depart Siem Reap to Singapore on Silkair MI634.
10.30 PM Arrive in Singapore.
Upon arrival in Singapore you will be met by a representative of Tour East Singapore Tel: (65) 6735-1221 - and transferred to the Singapore Cruise Centre.
I'm sure that this is far more detail than anyone (except me) is interested in.... I'm not sure how often I'll post (if at all) for the next three days, I'll do my best. Stay tuned for my Cambodian adventure....
